Enabling and Using 2FA to Secure Your Creator Account
Two-factor authentication, also called 2FA, adds an extra layer of security to your Creator account on Addikme. Even if your password is compromised, this protection helps limit unauthorized access to your account, your content, and your information.
What is two-factor authentication?
2FA requires a second verification step in addition to your password when logging in.
On Addikme, this verification takes the form of a temporary code sent by email. You must enter this code to complete your login.
2FA, in particular, helps:
-
strengthen the security of your Creator account
-
reduce the risk of unauthorized access
-
better protect your content and your data
How do you enable 2FA on Addikme?
To enable two-factor authentication:
-
log into your Creator account
-
go to the Privacy and Security > Security section
-
select the option to enable two-factor authentication
-
follow the on-screen instructions
How do you use 2FA day to day?
Once 2FA is enabled, logging into your account happens in two steps:
-
you first enter your email address and password
-
you then receive a temporary code by email
-
you enter this code to complete your login
What if you don’t receive the code by email?
If you don’t receive the verification code, first check the following:
-
your main inbox
-
your Spam or Junk folder
-
that the email address linked to your account is correct
-
that the message hasn’t been blocked by a mail filter
What if you lose access to 2FA?
If you can no longer complete the verification linked to 2FA, for example because you no longer have access to your email address, it’s recommended to contact Addikme support.
To help speed up handling your request, prepare:
-
the email address linked to your Creator account
-
useful information to verify your identity
-
a clear explanation of the issue you’re facing
Best practices for using 2FA securely
To make good use of two-factor authentication:
-
keep your email address secure
-
never share your verification codes
-
use a strong password in addition to 2FA
-
stay alert to any unusual login request
